Suresh Raina


Suresh Raina was born on 27 November, 1986. He is a left hand batsman of the Indian cricket team. In 1999,Raina had decided to take up the game seriously and moved to Lucknow from his home town Ghaziabad to join a sports college. He was the captain of the Under-16 team of Uttar Pradesh once. He played his first test match against Sri Lanka on 26 July, 2010 and made his ODI debut against the same country on 30 July, 2005. He plays for Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy and for Central Zone in Duleep Trophy.and IPL for Chennai Super Kings.

Raina is a modern generation and has played a role in India's success in the shorter versions of the games, A former Australian captain Ian chappell worte an article about Raina, He can thrash an attack when the field is spread and the bowling restricted especially short-pitched bowling and its brings a reaction similar to that of Superman exposed to 'Kryptonite'. He holds the record of being the only Indian to have scored a century in T20 international matches. His success in the domestic cricket could not translate into the accomplishments at the international level.

Since 2008, he became a regular player in the ODIs. He scored two centuries to become the second highest run getter in the Asia Cup 2008 tournament. Raina scored three centuries in ODIs and one each in tests and T20s. He has an ability to hit the stumps from the infield.Raina called by people as a wall of Indian fielding in the covers. He is also a very occasional off-spinner.

ODI Debut : He played his first ODI match in Sri Lanka 30 July 2005.

Test Debut : He played his first test match against Sri Lanka on 26 July, 2010 and made his ODI debut against the same country on 30 July, 2005.
