While at Pahalgam, which is 96 km from Srinagar, the capital of the Jammu and Kashmir, you can visit the Betaab valley which lies on the way to Chandanwari.

The snow-clad peaks, gushing streams, amazing trees and the stunning landscape of Betaab valley have provided background for the Sunny Deol starrer Bollywood movie Betaab.

In fact the valley derives its name form the Bollywood movie itself. Tulian Lake and Baisaran are tourist attractions that are located near the Betaab valley.

Those who like adventure sports, Pahalgam is the place to be. The adventure sports that can be enjoyed in this hill resort of South Kashmir are horse riding, trekking, fishing and golfing. 7km from Pahalgam is located Phirilasan which offers excellent opportunity for trout fishing.

12 km from Pahalgam, Aru Valley is a scenic meadow which serves as the leaping off point for trek to the Kolohoi Glacier. Tarsar lake and Mansar lake are other nearby attractions of Pahalgam.

For the wildlife lovers Shikaragah, 15 km from Pahalgam, is a one day trek.
